MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Have you wanted to get on a Nice Ride, but haven’t? Or is there a food truck you’ve wanted to try but haven’t tracked it down yet?
Well, you’re in luck!
They are just two of the things we’re talking about while we’re working for the weekend!
It’s the biggest party of the year – Twin Cities Pride.
The Twin Cities Pride Festival features events throughout the weekend including a beer dabbler on Friday, a festival on Saturday and Sunday and, of course, the parade Sunday. The great LGBTQ get-together is filled with fun, education, awareness and celebration. More than 300,000 people are expected to attend the three-day festival in Minneapolis.
The 61st Annual Tanbark Cavalcade of Roses Horse Show is this weekend at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds.
Watch trainers and riders showing and competing with their highly trained, beautiful and elegant horses. Open riding and academy classes are also available for kids. The show and lessons are all free!
The Afton Strawberry Festival will be celebrated in the Historic Village of Afton located along the scenic St. Croix River.
The Festival honors the long, rich heritage of strawberry crops grown in the area since the 1800’s.This free, two-day outdoor festival will feature a blend of artists, vintage treasures and live music.
Saturday is “Nicest Day Ever.”
The Minneapolis Foundation is encouraging everyone to take one of the Nice Ride bikes for a ride and for each bike taken out $1 will be donated to Free Bikes 4 Kidz. To encourage ridership, the foundation and Nice Ride will provide complimentary helmets and 24-hour Nice Ride passes from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at select stations.
Is there a food truck you’ve been wanting to try?
Chances are that truck will be at the Food Truck Festival Sunday in Calhoun Square. Check out between 40 and 60 trucks while also enjoying live music and Minnesota craft beer. The entrance fee is $2.
